The Day of Amateur Arts 2026

The power of amateur art
A festive day where amateur artists from associations in our city offer music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literature and new media for free on public stages in the city centre. Associations, groups or collectives can thus contribute to a city-wide celebration of creativity. The Day of Amateur Arts is for and by amateur artists. Participation is free and intended to give makers the space to show themselves, meet each other and together show Maastricht's cultural face.

A lively city centre
On this day, we will together put the wealth and diversity of Maastricht amateur art in the spotlight. The city centre turns into an open and lively stage, with beautiful stages on squares and streets or in cultural indoor spaces. There will also be an emphasis on visibility, public outreach and an appropriate presentation of all participating groups.
