Intro in Situ - Day of the Composer

Young composers take centre stage
During the Day of the Composer, Intro gives a stage to a new generation of composers. All over the Netherlands, work by contemporary composers will be heard, and in Maastricht too, the city will be dedicated to innovative music.

Evening programme full of experiment
The evening starts with an Open Studio by Clarinde Wesselink. Afterwards, saxophonist and composer Francesca Fantini presents Sounding Fragilities, a project merging movement and music, including work by Jien Chir Yap. Closing will be a jazz ensemble led by Sebastian Brache Almonte, with new repertoire of their own.

Music throughout the city
During the day, there are performances and initiatives at various locations in Maastricht, co-organised with CoMA Maastricht, Ensemble88 and other partners. This will celebrate the importance of contemporary, living music and make it audible to a wide audience. The first performance starts at 11.00 in the Station Hall.
