Heritage Unlocked - TEFAF 2026

During Heritage Unlocked 2026, visitors and residents of Maastricht will have a unique opportunity to discover Universiteit Maastricht s heritage. In this jubilee year, in which the university celebrates its 50th anniversary, the university's historical buildings take centre stage. The themed tours are specially organised by TEFAF and offer a surprising look at places that are normally not freely accessible. Official guides will take you past special locations where history, art and contemporary education come together.

There are two starting points: one departure from the Dinghuis in the city centre and one from the MECC.

Universiteit Maastricht Historic Maastricht
During the Universiteit Maastricht Historic Maastricht tour, you will discover the art and stories behind the historic facades of two of the university's buildings. Our guide will tell you all about the history, art and current use of the Law Faculty in the former Gouvernementsgebouw on Bouillonstraat and the Bestuurszetel on Minderbroedersberg. A special experience for anyone with an interest in culture, history and Maastricht.

Universiteit Maastricht - Randwyck Maastricht
The university buildings in Randwyck have accommodated medical, psychological and exact sciences since the 1990s. Innovative research here has been translated into some great works of art. Our guide takes you through the campus and tells you about the development of this part of Maastricht. Walk along and get an insight into the modern buildings that nevertheless contain a surprising amount of art and heritage.
