The FigurenTheaterDagen are an important part of the Pieke Parcours (city programming), in which the historical heritage of Pieke Dassen is celebrated and translated into a contemporary context. Through performances and public activities, figure theatre is made visible again and accessible to a wide audience.

On Sunday afternoon 20 September, Merlin Puppet Theatre will perform their new children's show The Girl with the Little Suitcase . Without text, but with the use of vivid images, music and the symbolic power of puppets, this performance is aimed at children and their families. Merlin Puppet Theatre tells 5 different stories from a child's perspective about diversity and fear, friendship and solidarity, responsibility and love, bullying and loss. With humour and acting, this afternoon is a poetic journey about growing up.

Visitors during the FigurenTheaterDagen will have a unique opportunity to experience figure theatre up close and learn about the creative processes behind the performance. The programming emphasises accessibility, interaction and education and contributes to active audience involvement. This makes the FigurenTheaterDagen an essential and connecting part of the Pieke Parcours, in which heritage, figure theatre and the public come together in Maastricht.
