The Maastricht Museum presents an exhibition on the Sanctuary Pilgrimage, a tradition that links religion, cultural history and commerce. The exhibition features impressive stories, historical masterpieces and lost church treasures, including the return of the Servatius Plates from Hamburg. The exhibition highlights both historical and modern forms of pilgrimage.
The book'Pelgrimage to Maastricht - The veneration of Saint Servatius and the Heiligdomsvaart', which describes the traditions and pilgrimage of a 16th-century traveller, will also be published. The book is available in Dutch and English.
