What happens when you strike up a conversation with someone whose life experience is very different from your own? During a Living Library, the ‘books’ aren’t books at all, but people with a unique story to tell. In an open and respectful setting, you’ll have the chance to meet someone in person and ask questions you might not normally ask in an everyday conversation.

From university to city
The Living Library brings people from different worlds together. The ‘books’ come from both the Maastricht University community and the local community. This fosters encounters that transcend the boundaries between the university and the city.

Stories that connect
The Living Library invites you to challenge preconceptions and assumptions and to truly get to know one another. By asking questions, listening and sharing experiences, conversations arise that can provide new insights and add nuance to existing perceptions.

Pop in, choose a ‘book’ and discover the story behind the title.
