50 Years of Lumière | Birthday Party
Friday 16 October
Celebrate 50 years of Lumière with films spanning six decades and a 70s party featuring disco, soul and funk at the Grand Café.
Birthday Party – 50 Years of Lumière
Lumière is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an evening of film and music. Films from each of the six decades of Lumière’s existence will be screened across all six auditoriums. From 1976’s *Themroc*, one of the first films screened by the Stichting Filmhuis Maastricht, to a secret preview from 2026.
After or alongside the film, it’s time to party at the Grand Café. For one evening, the space will be transformed into a 1970s dance floor, complete with a disco ball and music from DJ DiscoPatrick. He’ll be spinning favourite vinyl tunes from the 1970s, including disco, soul and funk.
Put on your favourite dress, suit, glitter, velour or sequins for this festive evening. The dress code is: dress to impress yourself.
