Exhibition "Hidden Messages"

Artist duo Marta Volkova & Slava Shevelenko will take you on a journey through the hidden communications of the plant world. In Hidden Messages, they explore the boundary between reality and fiction, with new works ranging from vases and drawings to sculptures and architectural scale models. Their creations reveal patterns in flowers that are visible in the ultraviolet spectrum and help pollinating insects, inviting us to learn from this invisible world.

Inspired by collective mythology and current scientific discoveries, the exhibition offers playful yet profound reflections on geopolitical, ecological and migration crises. Marta & Slava show how culture and nature can reinforce each other and contribute to a sustainable future for our planet.

With Hidden Messages, the interaction between nature and the human world is made transparent, and Buitenplaats Kasteel Wijlre invites visitors to look at their surroundings in a new, critical way.
