Ninth Bridging Lecture

Wednesday, 14 May

The previously announced speaker, theologian and church historian Peter Nissen, is unable to attend due to circumstances. Mr Régis de la Haye has been found willing to take his place!

Régis de la Haye will depart as much as possible from Peter Nissen's original theme, but instead of also discussing other bridge-builders after Saint Servatius, he will limit himself to Saint Servatius. From the historical context of Saint Servatius, he will build bridges, make connections and follow the historical continuity of Saint Servatius' veneration into the Middle Ages, so that he can also connect to the veneration of Saint Servatius in connection with the beginnings of the Sanctuary.

Speaker
Régis de la Haye is a Dutch theologian, church historian, journalist, archivist, genealogist and deacon. He is considered an expert on Roman Catholic liturgy, the bishops of Maastricht (especially St Servaas), the Sterre der Zee devotion and the Abbey Saint Pierre of Moissac. De la Haye teaches church history at Grootseminarie Rolduc and is a freelance writer and honorary archivist at RHCL in Maastricht.

You can register for the lecture at bruglezing@heiligdomsvaartmaastricht.nl
or possibly by telephone to Elly de Haan-Verduyn, 06-40261066

The event takes place on the occasion of the Sanctuary Day.
