Find out what owls eat
During the pellet dissection session, you’ll use tweezers and an identification chart to dissect a real owl pellet. These fluffy little balls contain bones, hairs and other bits and pieces that owls cannot digest. Together with the forest ranger, you’ll learn to identify what you find: perhaps the skull of a field mouse, or a bird bone?
Take your finds home with you
You stick your finds onto a map, which you’re of course welcome to take home with you. Picking through owl pellets is a fascinating way to learn more about the life of owls, and at the same time a fun activity to do with your child. The activity takes place indoors and is suitable for children aged 6 and over. Families are very welcome to join us for this outing full of nature, wonder and fun!
