Tour of the museum's mosasaurs, explaining their discovery and preparation in the Sciencelab.
Join preparator Jacques Knops on a discovery tour and meet the four impressive mosasaurs of the Natural History Museum Of Maastricht. These sea monsters swam in the Cretaceous Sea 67 million years ago. Jacques tells how their fossil bones were found and shows how he carefully extracts them from limestone.
Practical information
The tour starts at the museum desk and is suitable for a maximum of 12 visitors at a time. Participation is free (excluding museum entrance fee) and children are welcome from 9 years onwards.
