There, God sent Servatius
T/m 31 August
A double exhibition in Basilica Of Saint Servatius that brings to life the legend of Servatius and colourful processions of Maastricht.

A double exhibition in honour of the Pilgrimage Of Relics 2025, called'Servatius City Maastricht', is on display in the cloister of Saint Servatius' Basilica. This exhibition tells the story of city patron Servatius and his significance for Maastricht, based on the 12th-century Saint Servatius legend by Henric van Veldeke, written in the Maastricht dialect.
The exhibition highlights Servatius' historical and cultural significance for the city, which has been a major attraction for pilgrims from all over the world since the late 4th century.
There are also colourful paintings on display in the cloister on the theme of Processions, created by well-known Maastricht painter-sculptor Wil van der Laan. These works provide a visual interpretation of the religious and cultural processions that are an important part of Maastricht's history and traditions.
